Support for Community Response (SCR) is an independent not-for-profit organization, registered in Kenya under section 10 of Non-Governmental Organizations Coordinating Act. The goal of SCR is to strengthen grassroots health and development initiatives among underprivileged/vulnerable community members. SCR works through community mobilization and organizing, used as a means of effort to obtain better health, and improved economic standards.
As a relief and community development organization, SCR supports community initiatives and participation from various interest groups such as women, farmers, artisans, youth, parents and mobilizes resources to assist in creating frameworks for response/action. SCR has put in place mechanisms to ensure that communities in the targeted groups are meaningfully and continuously involved in decisions that directly impact their lives. This include participation and inclusion, communication and transparency, feedback and response and managing expectations as well as to counter misinformation.
The registered office is located at Celpan Apartments building in Mariakani Town, along Mariakani - Kaloleni road, Kilifi County in Kenya. SCR works with a Board of directors who make key decisions on organization policy and strategy. SCR plans to use its resources effectively, keeping administrative costs at a minimal.
